I started The Salt Net two years ago after working with my friend and mentor for 5 years. I knew I wanted to have my own business and my wife, Wendy, was on-board from day one. We want to help other people grow their businesses and have a better life for their families. Marketing allows me to use my creativity and gives me more freedom with my time.

 

I have 3 beautiful daughters and 6 precious grandchildren. I am thrilled that one of my daughters has already become a successful entrepreneur with her own photography business. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the other two.

 

I have learned to love learning. I listen to dozens of books a year because I still don’t like reading, but I don’t make excuses, I find solutions; Audible is great for this and I highly recommend it. I am constantly learning about everything related to marketing. In this field, if I don’t keep moving, growing, adapting, and evolving, I will get left behind and my client’s businesses will suffer for it. I can’t allow that.

 

I strive to get better every day. I’m not perfect, but this is where my faith comes in. I know that God has a plan for me. I listen and trust Him. I highly recommend that, too. When God opens the door for you, no one can shut it. When God shuts a door, praise HIm and move on. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I spent 16 years in a manufacturing plant in multiple roles from machine operator to upper management. I learned auditing, production, project management, and more. I use a lot of that knowledge today to help my clients. I find out where we can use their marketing dollars most effectively and put a plan together to help them reach their goals. There is creativity in designing a strategy; I don’t take a cookie-cutter approach to marketing. I have a wonderful team and I thrive managing what’s happening and when it’s happening with each client and project.

Over the last five years I have been able to work with some amazing businesses. We have been able to achieve great results with their marketing. Increase phone calls, drive traffic to websites, optimize business listings, and see tremendous growth in their businesses. I have worked with varying kinds of therapists, chiropractors, and mobility dealers to name a few. I have also consulted with restaurants, CPA’s, carpet cleaners and many more service based businesses within the chamber of commerce.

I have a loving wife and best friend, Wendy. I have 3 beautiful daughters and 6 precious grandchildren. My oldest daughter has her own photography business and the middle daughter recently graduated from the University of Georgia. My youngest daughter has just given us our sixth grandchild. The two year old grandson says he’s going to be an entahpahtumah (entrepreneur) when he grows up! It’s my desire to live a life in such a way that it will encourage my family to strive for the best, what God has for them, and trust HIm.

Being an entrepreneur isn’t always easy, the demands can be great, but having my own business allows me to have more freedom. I used to punch a time clock and had my day planned for me. Now, I can use my time the way I want and I wouldn’t change a thing. I enjoy spending time with my family and going on adventures with my amazing wife. Without her, I couldn’t do this business. We have the most fun together and I’m always looking forward to our next adventure.

I am thankful God has blessed me with such a wonderful, supportive family.

My love of fishing comes from my Dad taking me fishing when I was a kid. I remember those trips with him and my grandfather along with my uncles and cousins in Alabama. Those memories can never be taken from me and I hope to pass them along to my grandkids. I love to tournament fish and enjoy spending time with my friends on the tournament trail. The fishing industry has some amazing people in it, much like family. I am blessed to have had those people in my life and thankful for things I’ve learned along the way.

I challenge you to spend time outdoors and just look around at all God has created for us and you will see wonderful miracles in nature. Help preserve it for our future generations.

As I stated in my about section of this website, I don’t love to read and as a kid this was never my thing. However, if you want to get better in life, you need to understand that learning is part of this process. Audible has helped me so much and I am grateful that I can now make time more productive by listening to books, learning and growing.

According to the Texas A&M Transportation Institute’s Urban Mobility Scorecard, the average American commuting to and from an urban center will spend 42 hours sitting in traffic every year. (If you worked for 35 years and this remained constant, you’d be spending more than 61 days stuck behind the wheel.

We all have TIME to Learn!
